Highlights of Teaching English in Vietnam
We will consider applicants from either the USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Teachers from these English speaking nations will be given priority, however, if you are fluent in English and a teacher and very interested in an opportunity in teaching in Vietnam, we will also take your skills and background into consideration and offer you the same opportunity.
Generally, you will be employed as an English Teacher/Tutor in private homes in Vietnam, living and working in a HomeStay style accommodation arrangement. Which we consider the optimal way to truly experience the real Viet Nam!
Alternatively there is positions available in major urban centres in selective schools. For example, in HCMC - Ho Chi Ming City (formerly known as Saigon) and the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi.
Details of Teaching Positions in Viet Nam
All teachers will be provided with return air fare, visa's will be arranged and you will be required to see a Medical Travel Agency for consultation on required vaccinations (depending on your medical history).v
Free accommodations & meals living in a homestay style.
Wages start at $700.00 US per month.
NOTE Please remember Viet Nam is an emerging country and cannot offer the comparative teaching wages in countries like Korea, Taiwan or Japan.
Generally, you will be teaching during the weekdays, with weekends off to travel and explore Viet Nam. Excellent opportunities for cultural exchange.
Your students will be the children, and possibility relatives of your employer. Your employer(s) - owners of the house you wil be living - might also have an interest in learning English themselves.
Qualifications, Experience and Interests
Teaching experience is an asset, especially to children, however, qualified, passionate beginners will also be considered.
Bachelors degree, or 3 year College Degree. Considered an asset.
Any recognized teaching certificate. Considered an asset.
Have a genuine interest in the history, culture and people of Viet Nam.
Imagination, passion, enthusiasm and a willingness to teach children of all ages from 8 to 17 years old.
